Your Questions Answered
Here are some of the questions I’m asked most often about my garden care services. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to send me a message — I’m always happy to help.
Pricing & Quotes
What areas do you cover?
I work across South East Cornwall, including Looe, Liskeard, Saltash, Torpoint, and the surrounding villages. If you’re nearby but not sure, feel free to ask — I’ll let you know straight away.
Do I need to be home when you visit?
No — as long as I can access the garden, you don’t need to be home. Most customers are at work or out when I visit. I’ll always secure gates before leaving.
Do you take away green waste?
Yes, I can remove green waste if needed. Some customers prefer to use their own garden waste bin, but I’m happy to take it away for a small additional charge.
Do you work in the rain?
Light rain is usually fine, but heavy rain or unsafe conditions may mean rescheduling. I’ll always keep you updated so you’re not left wondering.
What tools do you use? Are they noisy?
I use quiet, eco‑friendly battery tools wherever possible. They’re ideal for residential areas, holiday lets, and customers who prefer a low‑noise approach. I do also have professional tools for the larger jobs when required.
How much does a typical visit cost?
Small jobs start from just £20. Every garden is different, so I’ll always give you a clear, fair quote before any work begins.
Is the first visit more expensive?
Usually, yes. Most gardens need an initial tidy‑up or reset before they can be maintained at a simple flat rate. Once everything is manageable, your regular visits stay at the same affordable price.
Do you offer one‑off tidy‑ups as well as regular visits?
Yes — I offer both. One‑off tidy‑ups are great for getting things back under control, and regular visits keep everything looking good long‑term.
How do you calculate quotes?
Quotes are based on the size of the garden, the amount of work needed, access, and how often you’d like visits. I keep everything simple and transparent.
FlexiCare Subscription
Access & Practicalities
How does FlexiCare work?
FlexiCare is my regular garden care plan, with visits every two weeks or once a month. I assess your garden, outline what it needs, and give you a flat‑rate price for each visit. It’s the easiest way to keep your garden tidy all year.
Why can’t I cancel individual visits?
FlexiCare pricing is calculated across the full February–November season and spread evenly to keep each visit affordable. Because of this, scheduled visits can’t be cancelled — it keeps your garden in good condition and avoids the cost of catch‑up work.
What months does FlexiCare run?
FlexiCare runs from February to November, covering the full growing season. This keeps your garden healthy and prevents things from getting out of control. Winter visits can be discussed as and when needed.
What happens if my garden needs extra work?
If your garden needs more than the usual maintenance during a visit, I’ll let you know first. Any additional work is always agreed with you before I start.
Do you need access to power or water?
Not for most tasks — all of my tools are either petrol or battery‑powered, and I bring everything I need.
I will require water and power for cleaning tasks that involve these.
What if I have pets?
No problem at all. Just let me know if there are any access notes or if a gate needs to stay closed. I’m used to working around pets safely. All pet waste must be removed from the garden before my visit.
Can you work around holiday let changeovers?
Yes — I regularly maintain holiday lets and can schedule visits around changeover times to keep the garden guest‑ready. This will need to be discussed and may not always be possible.
Trust & Safety
Are you insured?
Yes — I’m fully insured for all the work I carry out.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes — I’m DBS checked and experienced working around families, vulnerable adults, and SEND environments.
Is it safe to have you working around my home?
Absolutely. I work respectfully, communicate clearly, and always leave everything tidy and secure before I go.
